Hernando Youth Baseball/Softball/Tball Volunteer Opportunity

Hello Parents, 

We appreciate you registering your child to participate in Hernando Parks and Recreation's youth recreational baseball, softball, and tball.  It is our hope that their experience is a time of development for them as a player and as a teammate and that overall, it has been a time of great fun for the players.    

I wanted to pass along information of volunteer and fundraising opportunities for those of you who may be interested.  As you may know, the City of Hernando has some limitations on how it can spend City funds for the improvement of grounds and facilities at the Hernando Civic Center, which is a privately funded property.  In the past, volunteer-run non-profit groups have played a vital role in raising funds to help improve the grounds and facilities at the Civic Center.  

A group of parents are now looking to see if others are interested in assisting with these efforts.  If you, or someone you know, may be interested in getting involved please see the link below to fill out an interest form. 
 
This is not a program or group under the Hernando Parks & Recreation or City of Hernando, but one that the residents of Hernando and participants in Hernando Parks & Recreation will benefit from.

Youth Sports Currently Registering

2026 Spring Youth Soccer

REGISTRATION ENDS 12/29/2025

Hernando Parks and Recreation is associated with the Mississippi Soccer Association and offers a recreational 8 game soccer league available to boys and girls, ages 3 to 16, in the spring and fall. Spring Soccer runs from January to April, with registration beginning in November Fall Soccer runs from August to November, with registration beginning in May.  A copy of the player’s birth certificate and a form of payment must accompany the registration.

Uniforms - If you did not play in the 2024 Fall season, you will need to order a uniform. This will be added under Additional Items. The cost for uniform is $30.00. Little Kickers does not require a uniform to be ordered.

2026 Spring Challenger Soccer

REGISTRATION ENDS 12/29/2025

This program will be open to all those ages 5-18 with physical, mental challenges or intellectual disabilities. The program will give the participants the opportunity for physical, mental, and emotional growth while participating in the program. This will be a (4) week program beginning March 7th.
